Combatomaton

This is a 2D platformer shooter with a focus on buildcrafting. You can play with a random assortment of traits, weapons, and an ability, but you can pick ones that synergize.  Play through all 20 levels to unlock all the stuff!

It can be played with mouse and keyboard, and an external mouse is recommended.

The tutorial level sets the difficulty, which can be changed and customized in the settings menu.

In Development

Combatomaton is currently in beta, and as such there may be bugs and future content updates.

Modding

Combatomaton has support for custom modded levels, maps, weapons, traits, abilities, appearances and music; simply put all the modded content in a folder named something other than "base" in the Data folder. The mod folder should be organized the same as the Base subfolder of Data--maps go in a "maps" folder, levels in a "levels" folder and so on. Mods will be loaded on game startup or when reloading assets under Options.

Additionally, custom maps can be loaded directly from the quick match screen by using the load map from file button and navigating to the desired file.

Saving

Currently, the game saves unlocks and character gear when closing in a file called "savefile" in the Save folder. The savefile is plaintext and can be edited according to the savefile.xml schema, which can be found at the above schemas link. Additionally, you can use the "Unlock All" and "Reset Unlocks" buttons located under Options in the main menu to unlock all levels and equipment, or reset all unlocked levels and equipment.
